Parking Enforcement Technicians are an integral part of the Alameda Police Department’s Traffic Section. The technicians perform a number of functions, most notably, the enforcement of parking violations throughout the City of Alameda. Many of the parking issues and concerns are raised by residents, merchants, and business districts visitors.
The Alameda Police Department currently has 5 parking technicians who work Monday through Saturday, 4:00am to 6:00pm. The parking technicians actively patrol the streets of Alameda enforcing all parking regulations outlined in the California Vehicle Code and Alameda Municipal Code.
All parking citations issued within the city limits can be paid in person at the Alameda Police Department Monday through Thursday, 10:00am to 4:00pm, by mailing a check to the City of Alameda, Parking Enforcement Center, 1555 Oak Street, Alameda, CA 94501.

RECREATIONAL VEHICLE PARKING IN ALAMEDA
a. It shall be unlawful for any person to park or to leave unattended any recreational vehicle (as defined in Section 18010 of the Health and Safety Code), trailer (as defined in Section 630 of the Vehicle Code) or boat trailer (whether or not such trailer or boat trailer is hitched to a motor vehicle) on the streets of the City of Alameda. Such recreational vehicles, trailers and/or boat trailers may be towed to, and stored at, an impound facility at the owner's expense.
b. Notwithstanding the foregoing:
1. Recreational vehicles, trailers, and boat trailers may park on the street pursuant to a temporary permit issued by the Alameda Police Department. Temporary permits shall not exceed a twenty-four-hour period and no more than two (2) temporary permits will be issued for any single recreational vehicle, trailer or boat trailer within a single calendar month.
