Docent Joan Kaplan from SFMOMA presents “Big, Bold Beautiful: Mark di Suvero at Crissy Field."

This talk highlights the eight monumental sculptures installed at San Francisco’s Crissy Field through May 2014. Working primarily in steel beams and plates, di Suvero creates monumental sculptures that convey a sense of lightness and movement. This talk also explores the artist’s personal connections to San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge, which provides a dramatic backdrop for the exhibition.

The presentation includes a video of di Suvero talking about these personal connections and touches on his other significant contributions to public art across the Bay area.
