Civil Marriage Ceremonies

The Historic Alameda City Hall offers intimate, romantic, and charming civil marriage ceremonies with the personalized attention you deserve.

 

Ceremonies are performed Monday through Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. by Deputized Marriage Commissioners. A $50.00 nonrefundable processing fee is due to reserve your requested date. (Check made payable to City of Alameda, cash, or credit cards accepted).

We offer 2 customized wedding packages by appointment only. Both packages are performed in the Council Chambers and include a Marriage Commissioner, staff assistant, decorations and music of your choice.

The Grand Chambers: $410.00 - 1 hour Council Chambers rental, maximum 100 guests
Bliss: $300.00 - 1/2 hour Council Chambers rental, maximum 20 guests

EXPRESS WEDDINGS: $130.00 Maximum 5 guests, appointments suggested, walk-ins welcome Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. if available.

A staff photographer is available to capture the memories of your ceremony for $250.00 which includes a disc mailed to you with all the high resolution edited images. Please contact our office to confirm photographer availability

$50.00 nonrefundable processing fee

$137.00 one hour Council Chambers rental

$84.00 per hour for Staff Event Assistant

$29.00 insurance (only needed if Indemnity & Hold Harmless Agreement not signed)

Cash, checks, and money orders made payable to the City of Alameda, as well as credit cards, are accepted.

Those interested in having one of the City's Deputy Marriage Commissioners perform their civil marriage ceremony must bring a valid marriage license, valid photo IDs, and a witness.

Marriage licenses must be obtained from any County Clerk-Recorder prior to your ceremony.

Marriage License: Your license will be forwarded to the Alameda County Clerk. The County Clerk will process it and return it to you in approximately 2 weeks. If you do not receive your license, please follow up with the County Clerk at 510-272-6362.
