Free legal aid for low-income tenants available

The Alameda City Council approved funding to provide free legal services to low-income Alameda tenants. This new funding supports tenants in the City of Alameda with termination and/or eviction notices, rent increases, lack of repairs and/or habitability, harassment and/or retaliation, and other landlord-tenant disputes.

Weekly drop-in hours are at 9:00 am on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Centro Legal de la Raza, 3022 International Boulevard, Suite 410, in Oakland. You must sign in before these times to receive services. Tenants will receive a brief consultation with a Centro Legal staff member. An attorney will review each tenant’s situation, offer advice, and provide a referral to an extended services appointment, if necessary. If you are being evicted, please call Centro Legal de la Raza immediately at 510-437-1554 or come to the office at 3022 International Boulevard, Suite 410, in Oakland.
