Three Consecutive Webster Tube Overnight Closures For July 22-24, 2024

ALAMEDA COUNTY — Caltrans has scheduled three consecutive overnight closures for the State Route 61 Webster Tube in July 2024. The closures are overnight only. The tube will be open in the daytime. The Webster and Posey tubes connect the cities of Alameda and Oakland.

  • The tube will close at 10 p.m. Monday, July 22 and reopen at 4 a.m. the next morning.
  • The tube will close at 10 p.m. Tuesday, July 23 and reopen at 4 a.m. the next morning.
  • The tube will close at 10 p.m. Wednesday, July 24 and reopen at 4 a.m. the next morning.

The Webster Tube will be open in the daytime. The closures are nighttime only. The purpose of the closures is to accommodate maintenance work. Work will be postponed if it rains.

The Posey Tube will remain open.

Traffic Control Measures:

Changeable message and directional signs will be in place to assist motorists traveling in the area. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) will be at the sites during the closures.
