Free Sandbags Available to Alameda Residents and Businesses

To help Alamedans prepare for storm season, the City is providing up to five free sandbags for Alameda residents and businesses. Sandbags can be retrieved anytime from a self-serve sandbag station on Lexington Avenue at W Ranger at Alameda Point.  If assistance loading sandbags is needed, staff will be available Saturday December 7, from 8am-12noon to assist loading sandbags into vehicles. Please note that if it is storming, Public Works maintenance staff may not be available for assistance as they are out tending to storm-related service requests from the public, Alameda Police Department, and others.
