Burglary: On August 11, at 7:45 am, officers responded to the 500 block of Palace Court for the report of a residential burglary. The burglary likely occurred in the middle of the night; the suspect was no longer at the scene. At 7:30 pm, the suspect returned to the area and was arrested. #24-05189
Negligent Discharge of a Firearm: On August 18, at 3:49 pm, officers responded to the 1900 block of Shoreline Drive for a disturbance inside of a residence. While on the phone, dispatchers overheard a gunshot. Officers determined the suspect discharged a firearm from a balcony before leaving the area. No injuries were reported. At 6:30 pm, the individual was located in the 1200 block of Park Street and arrested. #24-05345
Collision: On August 21, at 11:01 am, officers responded to the 500 block of Ralph Appezzato Memorial Parkway for the report of a collision. The vehicle came to a rest against a city pole, causing minor damage. The driver was unresponsive and did not appear to have outward injuries. The driver died while being transported to the hospital. The cause of the collision and death are under investigation. #24-05410
Case update: On July 29, at 8:28 pm, officers responded to a business in the 2600 block of 5th Street to investigate an armed robbery. After demanding money from the store’s employees, the suspect left the scene. On August 14, officers arrested an individual for their role in the robbery. A second individual was arrested for an outstanding warrant connected to a separate incident. #24-04954
Traffic Enforcement: APD officers issued 125 traffic citations and 153 warnings.
