Alameda’s Eighth Annual Youth Career & Job Fair
Published on March 11, 2024
The City of Alameda and the Alameda Unified School District (AUSD) will be hosting the Eighth Annual Alameda Youth Career & Job Fair on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, from 1:00 to 4:00 pm, at Encinal Jr. Sr. High School’s gymnasium located at 210 Central Avenue in Alameda.
This annual event connects our future workforce with employers and career training opportunities. It is an excellent opportunity for local employers to meet our talented students who are eager to apply the skills they learn in the classroom to practical work experience. Over 600 students attended last year’s event.
Open to all high school students in Alameda, the free event has expanded every year to include over forty employers, City-sponsored internships, trade organizations, educational institutions, and a wide-range of summer opportunities. A Resume Help Desk is available for students who seek guidance on how best to format or update their resume. Students who bring a resume will be eligible for a raffle drawing.
The Youth Career & Job Fair is supported by AUSD, Alameda Collaborative for Children, Youth, and Their Families (ACCYF), the City of Alameda, Alameda County Supervisor Lena Tam, and the Alameda Chamber & Economic Alliance.
Employers and organizations offering summer jobs/educational opportunities can register for a free table at the March 27 event using this link https://tinyurl.com/YouthCareerFair2024 or by contacting Eric Fonstein at the City of Alameda’s Economic Development Office at efonstein@alamedaca.gov or Felicia Vargas at Alameda Unified School District at fvargas@alamedaunified.org.
