Tween Summer Adventure Camp

The 2025 Tween Summer Adventure Camp is almost here and it is open to those in 6th to 8th Grades (Incoming Fall 2025).  Our week-long sessions are FUN, engaging, educational and recreational.  Your tween/teen will make new friends, try new and exciting activities and leave with amazing memories.

Registration is available per week (no single days allowed, one 2-week session offered).  ONLY FULL WEEK CAMPERS CAN PARTICIPATE IN TUESDAY FIELD TRIPS.

Full payment is required at time of registration.  Trips and trip times are subject to change.  Please send your tween with a packed lunch, unless notified otherwise.

How Do We Register For Tween/Teen Programs?

IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO PARENTS/GUARDIANS:

  • valid Parent/Guardian email address must be provided at the time of registration.  ARPD Teen Staff will send important information via email to parents/guardians prior to each camp week (what to bring, drop-off times, waiver information, etc.).
  • If a waiver is not signed prior to trip day, your tween will not be able to attend the trip and you will be called to pick your tween up.
Parents/Guardians must state:
  • Whether their tween must:
    • Remain with Leader on the trips OR
    • if tween has Permission to stay with a buddy and must check-in with Leaders at designated times; and
  • Whether of not their tween may sign-in and sign-out by themselves each day and the time they can sign out.
 **ARPD Disclaimer:  Registrations that are emailed, faxed or dropped off could have delayed processing.  Registering online will be your best opportunity to secure a spot in one of the ARPD Programs!  If your desired program is full, place your tween on the waiting list as additional program may be added to meet the demand of registration.
NOTE:
Please provide details regarding your child's medical needs and/or any physical, emotional or developmental disabilities they may have.  Safety is of the utmost importance for all ARPD participants.  Providing ARPD with this information is necessary so that we may determine if and how we can safely support your child.  Accommodations are made on a case-by-case basis with a Program Supervisor. 
All participants are required to act responsibly and with respect towards other persons and property during any ARPD sponsored activity.  Failure to do so may result in loss of privileges for the day or other disciplinary measures as deemed necessary.  No refunds if participant is suspended.
ARPD PROGRAMS FOLLOW ALL STATE AND COUNTY HEALTH PROTOCOLS
Each week of this affordable and well-supervised program includes TWO (2) AWESOME field trips plus: 
  • local walking excursions
  • arts and crafts
  • sports
  • outdoor physical games
  • special events
  • and much, much more!
On non-trip days, please send your tween/teen with a packed lunch and refillable water bottle.  Simple snacks (goldfish, granola bar, fruit and trail mix) will be provided in the morning and afternoon.  Additional snacks (candy bars, chips and Gatorade) will be available for purchase.

For the Six Flags Discovery Kingdom trip:  Six Flags Discovery Kingdom only accepts card payments, including restaurants, retail stores, games, and ticket windows.  You can convert your cash to a prepaid debit card at one of the multiple kiosks located throughout the park.

For the Great America/Waterpark trip:  Great America/Waterpark has gone cashless.  Credit or debit cards accepted only.  They do have kiosks where you can convert your cash to a debit card.

Most of the field trips are scheduled for TUESDAY and THURSDAY for full week campers (see schedule below).
On Field Trip Days, please drop off and pick up your tween/teen at THE UNDERGROUND TEEN CENTER(Veteran's Memorial Building, 2203 Central Avenue at Walnut Street, Alameda)
If you have registered for the weekly camp sessions, the cost of both field trips is already included in your weekly fees so there is no need for you to sign up for the individual field trips.

Non-Trip Days:
Camp is located at Longfellow Park, 520 Lincoln Avenue.   Drop off as early as 8:00 am and pick-up no later than 5:30 pm.  Late pick-ups are $1 per minute per child; payable to ARPD Staff that day. 
Field Trip Day(s):
Drop-off and pick-up will take place at The Underground Teen Centerunless noted otherwise (2203 Central Avenue at Walnut Street).
To be REFUNDED, minus $20 processing fee, a request must be made before 14 DAYS prior to the first day of camp
NO REFUNDS ISSUED THEREAFTER
Late Pick-Ups are $1 per minute per child, payable to ARPD Staff that day
