OFFICIAL MINIMUM WAGE NOTICE
The City of Alameda’s minimum wage increased to $17.00 per hour on July 1, 2024, based on the Bay Area Consumer Price Index (BACPI) from February 2023 to February 2024. The minimum wage applies to all employers and employees who work two (2) hours or more a week within the boundaries of the City of Alameda.
The City published an Official Minimum Wage Notice that informs employees of the current local minimum wage and their rights. Employers must post the Official Minimum Wage Notice at each workplace or job site in a conspicuous place.
Employers are required to post the Official Minimum Wage Notice in English. This notice should also be posted in the second most spoken language by employees. The Official Minimum Wage Notice can be downloaded below. Printed copies are also available at the Community Development Department located in City Hall West 950 West Mall Square, Second Floor, Room 205, Alameda CA, 94501.
*The State's minimum wage may be higher in some instances.
