The Friends of the Parks Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to promote, protect, and support recreation and park activities, as well as community wellness in Alameda.  We support the preservation and improvements of resources through sponsoring local programs and projects in cooperation with the Alameda community and the Department of Recreation and Parks.  Our success is dependent upon our members, volunteers, and individual/business donors.

Friends of the Parks meet quarterly and is made up of Alameda citizens who volunteer their time to support our city's most valuable assets - our parks.

Donations are very helpful and welcomed.  They are used to support citywide programs like Starlight Movies in the Park, Teen Centers, Camp Scholarships, Fit City Fitness Equipment and many other acitivities.  Please visit the Friends of the Parks website at www.alamedaparks.org to find information on how to donate and how to participate in supporting our parks.
