On May 19, 2015 the City Council awarded a contract to Alten Construction to construct a new Emergency Operations Center and Fire Station. The Emergency Operations Center will be located at 1809 Grand Street, and the Fire Station is adjacent at 1625 Buena Vista Avenue.
Construction is scheduled to begin on June 22, 2015 and be completed by June 2016. Construction work hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. During construction, motorists will experience minor disruptions in traffic, temporary loss of parking spaces, temporary restricted street access, as well as an increase in noise and dust levels. No Parking signs will be posted 72-hours in advance of the planned work to advise when the work will begin and parking restrictions will become effective.
