Bay Area artist, Maria Kaplan, will exhibit her abstract paintings on the second floor of the Alameda free Library.
In this show the artist navigates the levels of abstraction - from pure line, color and form to partially recognizable images. Her canvases are populated with a mix of organic and geometric shapes, pen markings, fiber and mosaic patterns.
For Maia Kaplan, inspiration comesfrom the everyday. She is drawn to the ordinary as well as the unique. She considers her work to be a synthesis of things experienced in one day - or in a lifetime.
An art reception and program will be held in the Stafford Rooms on Wedneday, December4 from 6:30-8 pm
Second floor of the Alameda Free Library.
