OverDrive provides library patrons remote access to a large collection of premium audiobooks, e-books, and music from their website. It supports downloads to personal computers, Ipod(R), iPhone(R), iPad(TM), Android(TM), Sony(R)Reader, Kindle, and numerous other mobile devices.
The Enki Library is a shared open source eBook Network that allows California libraries to own and store eBooks for access by library patrons; to share access to more content than any individual library can purchase on its own; to add features and functionality lacking in current third-party vendor models' and to share access to unique local digitized content with other libraries within the Network. Provides free audiobooks from the public domain. LibriVox volunteers record chapters of books in the public domain, and then releases the audio files back onto the net (podcast and catalog). The objective is to make all books in the public domain available, for free, in audio format on the internet. Librivox is a totally volunteer, open source, free content, public domain project.
