Styrofoam™ Food Container Ban

The City of Alameda has taken a bold stand to reduce the amount of trash going to area landfills.

Since July 1, 2008, Styrofoam™ disposable food service containers have been banned from the city.
Now, food vendors and restaurants in the City of Alameda are required to use compostable or recyclable to-go containers.
