DIVISION CHIEF MARK SAMPLE     

 

Chief Sample joined the Alameda Fire Department as a Firefighter in 1996. He was promoted to Captain in 2003, working on both Truck 1 and Truck 2. During that time he also acted as Division Chief where he served as shift platoon commander. In November 2014 he promoted to Division Chief in charge of special operations which includes; hazardous materials, technical rescue, and marine operations. He also oversees the training division and disaster preparedness for the department.

 

Chief Sample studied at Shasta College where he earned his firefighter 1. Throughout his career he has continued his education in the fire service by earning numerous certifications and completion of firefighter 2 with the California State Fire Marshal. 

He currently resides in Contra Costa County with his wife and two sons. He likes spending his time off with family and watching his sons play ball.
