Civil Marriage Ceremonies

 

ROMANCE BY THE BAY

The City of Alameda offers charming, intimate civil ceremonies at the historic Alameda City Hall located at 2263 Santa Clara Avenue. 

 

Civil marriage ceremonies are conducted by appointment only, Monday through Thursday from 10: 00 am to 4:00 pm.

 

Those interested in having one of the City's Deputy Marriage Commissioners perform their civil marriage ceremony must bring a valid marriage license, valid photo IDs, and a witness.

 

Marriage licenses must be obtained from the Alameda County Clerk-Recorder (or your County of residence) prior to your ceremony.

A Staff Photographer can be added to any package for $70.00 for one hour. A personal photo gallery will be available online where the couple, family and friends can view photos. Photos may be customized and purchased for an additional cost.

 

 

 

ITEMIZED FEES

  • $50.00 processing fee

  • $120.00 one hour Council Chambers rental

  • $220.00 one hour Council Chambers rental, including video

  • $70.00 per hour for Staff Event Assistant

  • $70.00 per hour for Staff Photographer

  • $25.00 insurance (only needed if Indemnity & Hold Harmless Agreement not signed)

Cash, checks, and money orders made payable to the City of Alameda, as well as credit cards, are accepted.
